Ink Splat Photos

Happy Sunday guys!!

Have you had a super chilled day? To me no matter how busy your week has been or is going to be, you have to take time and relax! And for me the perfect time to do that is Sunday, I just spend it the typical Sunday way; no make-up, comfy clothes and hair slapped up in a pony tail, what could be better than that? All you need to do is to sit and either spend the day watching tele, or doing one of them adult colouring in books. I also love drawing, it is just so therapeutic to loose yourself in a picture, no matter how random it is and today I really fancied doing one of those paint splatter pictures, but with ink.

Lets get started!!
Lets get started!!

After the melting candles that I done on one of the last D.I.Y.  posts, then I’ve learned that you HAVE to cover your work area otherwise you just get a whole lot of mess.

You will need; good quality paper, water, ink and paint brushes.

With one of your paintbrushes you should soak your sheet of paper (or canvas if your feeling very creative) with the water. Dip a dry paintbrush into your ink of choice and let it either drip onto the page or you can flick the ink all over the page. Either way the effect when it spreads out is amazing.

The only problem with letting the ink just drip off your brush, is that it takes FOREVER!! So my main way was just to flick it all over the page.

My page started to dry up, so I left what ink was on the page to fully dry then went back over it roughly with more water (be careful though because it can still spread the dry ink). Then jst carry on until you are happy with how the page looks.

You can put whatever you want on the dried ink splattered page, whether it is a drawing, a saying or a silhouette, it all depends what you want.

With mine I ended up putting a little saying by Will Smith on it. But just to show you what little silhouettes would look against the ink I quickly done a little section on a different page just to show you.

img_0312  A fast and easy fool-proof way to do a silhouette is to simply print one out off your computer, cut around it and then glue it to the page.

This is another super easy yet super effective little project that you can do. Enjoy all the different possibilities you can have with this one.

  1. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard
to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance.

I must say you have done a great job with this. In addition, the
blog loads super quick for me on Chrome. Exceptional Blog!

    1. thank you 🙂
