Hope you have had a great weekend and your heads aren’t too bad if you’ve been celebrating Halloween early. Today isn’t a post about reviewing/making/D.I.Y.-ing anything, I’m just practising my Halloween make-up for work in the morning and I thought I would show yous. Now I work in a shop so my outfit can’t be too scary and truthfully I really didn’t want to go out and buy an outfit that I am going to wear once, so I’m planning on a black jumper (because the shop is COLD this time of year) and either light blue or black skinny jeans with black ankle boots (dark and practical to be putting out stock), and a blood dripping choker from Tesco (about £3) but mainly focusing on my make-up.
So here goes the first attempt….
So I just thought I would do a simple black and red smokey eye for this. For the black I used a mixture of Sleek Make-up I-Devine Palette in ‘Bad Girl’ shade ‘NIOR’ and Max Factor Excess Shimmer in ’30 Onyx’. I don’t actually own a red eyeshadow so I used the L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in ‘297 Red Passion’ to get the red centre colour. I still used a lip brush (even though it is on my eye) to pack the colour on and then went over the top of the lipstick with a little bit of translucent powder just to set the lipstick. For the waterline I used the Maybelline Master Drama Khol Liner in ‘Ultra Nior’ and set it with some more ‘Nior’ from the Sleek Palette in hopes of making it stay longer.
I think that tomorrow I will add a bit of brown eyeshadow into the crease of my eyelid and concentrate more on the flick of the eyeshadow.
I have got a pair of these cobweb false eyelashes to wear in the morning and these where around about £2 from Tesco.
I am also going to go in on adding some veins under my eyes and dotted randomly over my face (sorry for the bad photo it was the best one that I could get!) I used some more of the L’Oreal Lipstick on a Real Technique Fine Liner Brush, along with the shades ‘Rebel’ and ‘Abyss’ from the same Sleek Palette.
For today’s attempt I didn’t bother putting any foundation on because on my days off I like to let my skin breath, but I give the ‘contour’ bit of this make-up a try. For a slightly more of a dead look, I decided to use Max Factor Masterpiece eyeshadow in ‘Night Sky’. This is a cream eyeshadow and wow was it hard to try and blend, I think tomorrow I will use the shade ‘Blade’ or ‘Gun Metal’ from the Sleek palette with just a hint of this Max Factor eyeshadow in it. This look was a bit to fake for me (I hate it when girls walk around with makeup on where you can see lines that separate each section of make up when all you need to do is blend for it to look more natural). Then I topped off the cheek look with some L’Oreal True Match Highlight in ‘Icy Glow’.
For the lips I have decided to use the Maybelline Master Drama Khol Liner in ‘Ultra Nior’ (mentioned above in the Eyes section). To line the lips and then blended with a clean Lip Brush. And then in the centre I used the L’Oreal Color Riche Lipstick in ‘297 Red Passion’.
Tomorrow morning I am thinking of using less black around the edge and more red in the centre.
And that is it. That is the look that I am going for tomorrow at work. I think it is really subtle yet effective, I just need to take more time and care when putting it all on tomorrow. Like I said earlier, it is not the normal Sunday post but I just thought I would show you this cheap Halloween makeup idea that only cost me £2 because everything else I already had and I’m pretty sure more of yous will have.
Happy Halloween for tomorrow!
