Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hey guys,

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post, I’ve kinda been stuck in a rut not knowing what to write about. But during this time I’ve re-found my love for reading and got completely hooked on a book (durr Kathleen a book is generally what you read when you re-find your love for reading). The book of choice was Black Ice by Becca Fitzpatrick, it was one of them books that was just sitting there on my Kobo and as soon as I opened and read the first page, I was adamant that I had read it before but could I for the life of me remember how it finished. So before it ruined me trying to think about it I just read it again, and thank God I did, I completely forgot how good this book is.

The author: Becca Fitzpatrick

If your go to age group for a book is young teen then you need to check out Becca Fitzpatrick! She has a 4 book series which is all about magic and fantasy…..

But she has also written “Dangerous Lies” (still to be read) and “Black Lies”. As you would expect with her books being aimed at Young Teens they are a nice easy read, but they can still grip your attention and have you hooked after a couple of paragraphs.

Black Ice

Synopsis:┬áBritt Pfeiffer has never been that adventurous, but that’s about to change. Wanting to impress her ex-boyfriend, Britt convinces best friend, Korbie, to take a trekking trip with her. But when a freak storm leaves the girls stranded they seek shelter in a cabin, where they find two knights in shining armour. Or so they think. Britt quickly realises that the girls need to get off the mountain, fast. In exchange for her life, she is forced to guide the boys down, and as they set out on a harrowing journey through the cold and snow, Britt realises the only way to escape with her life is to pretend she is on their side. But is gorgeous, sexy Mason an enemy or an ally? Tension mounts, and it’s only a matter of time before things turn deadly . . . Dark and adrenaline-filled, Black Ice will have you on the edge of your seat right until the final twist (Synopsis courtesy of the book and WHSmith).

I really enjoyed this book, it has you second guessing who the true bad guy is. It has you shouting/moaning at Britt. You fall for “Mason” but like Britt, at first you don’t want to but then as the true story unravels that changes. For me the way she is hung up on her ex hit a few bells, I realised just how us girls, at one point in our lives are like that about someone, but then in the extra chapter you realise that we all get over them and life carries on and can get better.

This book is perfect for the coming cold nights!

Love,

Kathleen xox
